Old system? Stacked gradient. New system? TORNADO!!
I would expect more from Google. It looks like somebody wrote up a really blah blog post, and then someone else looked at it and said ‘oh my god this needs an image.’ And then they threw something together in about five minutes. I understand not wanting to include labels, but there’s a certain point where your infographic is simply unable to communicate any data at all.
I hope that poor guy can get out OK.
